In favour of Christian Culture

On December 2, as head of state, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg refused to sign euthanasia into law.

Grand Duke Henri’s refusal, for “reasons of conscience,” set an example for Europe where a culture of death is spreading more and more. He took this step fully aware of the possible loss of his constitutional authority to veto legislation, and that Prime Minister Jean Claude Juncker wants to strip him of this power. The very abolition of the monarchy is being discussed.

His defense of the vulnerable and elderly, and his fidelity to God’s Law deserve our greatest respect and support, and strengthen our hopes for a revival of Christian culture in Europe.
